Just a short note since I'm exhausted.

My father has done the incredible and the amazing.

He is giving each of his kids some money from one of Grampa's life insurance policies of which he was the beneficiary.

The money he is giving me will be going toward the college loan in his name that I am paying off. The amount he's giving me will cover about half of what is still owed on it. It's a Good Thing. (Of course, due to the snafus on the loan, and my immaturity about repaying it since I was angry at Dad, what was a loan with $3K of principal turned into a loan that is taking $10K to pay off...but never mind that.)

He's finally able to honor the commitment he made to me 13 years ago. I'd given up all hope of ever seeing any money from him.
