Now playing: Nothing. Watching "Cooking Live" on Food Network. It's porn in some form, I'm sure of it. They're making cookies tonight.

And speaking of porn, go read Donna's diary entry.

Well, I wrote that about 20 minutes ago. Got a phone call from Mom inbetween then and now.

So I won't be a pussy and whine about the snow. This is New England, it's supposed to snow like this, get the fuck over it and deal.

Ooooh I swore! Some people think I don't swear, that I'm a goody-two-shoes of sorts. That's SO funny.

I guilted my company today into buying pizza for the 35 or so of us there. Go me. :D Good pizza, too.

Tomorrow is Grandparents' Day for me; I'm taking the day off. First I get to go up Wilbraham Mountain to Granny's house and make sure she can get out of her driveway, and then I get to bring Grampa to Mercy Hospital for an MRI to see if he has a pinched nerve which would be causing arm pain. Apparently his arm is hurting so much these days that he can't even push his walker, which means he's just about stopped moving altogether.

I just wrote that That's Not Good. But maybe that is good. Maybe it's a sign that his life is winding down after 91 years. I know he doesn't believe in an afterlife, so it's not like he's looking forward to being reunited with Gramma or anything. *sigh* I don't know how he endures what I can only surmise is a bleak existence.

So let's see..what else. Saturday afternoon was Alexandra's fifth birthday party. That was fun. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen helping Melanie prepare the food so I didn't have to endure either my family or her husband's family. She made these pastry-wrapped olives which were wicked good.I know that sounds weird - but they were great.

After the party, I got together with my Words-L friends Steve and Emily, Steve being in town from Illinois for the model train show at the Big E, and Emily only lives in New Haven, so we had a little wingding and went for food in Northampton. The East Side Grill had a 2.5 - 2.75 hour wait, so we said we'd see them another time and went to Siam Square for Thai food. Now, that was only the second time in my life I'd had Thai food - the first being back in the summer - but damn, I've been missing out! I had green curry with duck and it was delicious. Had they served more, I surely would have eaten it. Then we went to La Fiorentina, I picked up some tiramisu to go, and we came back to my place. We listened to various music (Fruvous, Mrs. Miller), ate our dessert, and chilled till about midnight, when Steve went to his hotel room in Holyoke and Emily commandeered the futon.

Sunday morning we three went to Fran's for breakfast in Feeding Hills - yum. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place that I bring most company to. :) It's a tradition with Wordslers. Then we returned to my apartment and said our goodbyes. I then went to Costco. Woo. I only bought what I went in for, too. I'm getting good at that!

So, that's about it. I'll write more as events warrant.
