Took today off to get new tires put on the car and to take Mom to Trader Joe's. The tires were fine...$250 for two new tires, an alignment and balancing (which I'm not sure the people at Town Fair Tire know how to do competently). The car rides and drives much better.

Mom got here around 1:40 and we went to TJ's in Framingham, which is east of Worcester..it's about an hour down the Pike. Well, the drive SUCKED ASS because it was raining...and the spray from all the @#$#@$% tractor-trailer trucks was NO FUN to contend with.

Given that the driver there was such a joy, we decided to take state Route 9 home... we left TJ's at 4, I bid adieu to Mom from my apartment at 7. I can't believe it took us *3 hours* to get home. Miserable Worcester rush-hour traffic, tons of traffic lights everywhere, etc etc.

So I'm drained and wiped, but I've got lots of yummies and a full freezer. Life is momentarily good. :)
