Whee, lookit the world go by. Pretty!

Not much has been going on lately. I've been somewhat busy tending to my mom. She doesn't like the neighborhood to which she's moved - there are POOR PEOPLE in it who happen to be non-white - and she is very nervous as their talking in the street WAKES HER UP at night. *sigh*. It must really be hard being snobby and bigoted. She even went as far as to go look at one of the senior citizen apartments back in her old town, and asked me to look at it with her. Turns out it was so freaking tiny, like maybe 60% the size of MY apartment. Two rooms plus a kitchen, and those two rooms couldn't have been more than 10 feet square each. Thankfully, and I'm not quite sure why, she declined it, so I guess she's going to stay where she is for the nonce.

Tuesday I am taking her to UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for some medical appointments. She's had a nagging cough for years now and no dr. has been able to give a diagnosis. So, she mentioned it to her college roommate who apparently was very high up in the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute before she retired, and said friend pulled some strings, so now Mom is seeing a very well respected specialist whom we hope will provide some insight. I'm just glad the weather is supposed to be clear. Now there's just the stress of Worcester's morning rush hour to contend with.

The other night I had to go to the mall, and wow, my vertigo hit me big time. I hate those freaking glass railings on the second floor. If they were solid, or metal bars or something, it'd be so much better. But no, I literally had to force one foot to go in front of the other around the LARGE extended family units who decided to also visit the mall at the same time. So. Annoying. GTF out of my way, and yes, I really would rather walk THROUGH you than around you.

Still can't stop listening to the Winterpills' new album, though I am slowly starting to integrate other music back into my listening. It's really that good of an album - it's been two weeks since the concert.

As for the work stuff I whined about last month, all that is behind me. I decided to not go for that management position in Belgium. It will be interesting, and I'm sure somewhat frustrating, once they fill that position. I'll be sure to whine about it, don't worry.

Spring can't come soon enough. This winter has really been tough on me emotionally and I need the light and the warmth.

Uh, I think that's it.
