I got rid of a piece of history today.

I brought in my college computer to work a few days ago so my friend Jay could see it. I turned it on, and the hard drive wouldn't spin up. I took it apart, and there was nothing to be done. So, into the dumpster it went today, after I'd had it for 13 years and 3 days - I got it on August 26, 1989.

It felt wrong throwing it out - I didn't want to throw out a very tangible link to the happiest time in my life. But, I didn't want a boat anchor, either. For those of you that care, it was a Zenith SupersPort 184 laptop. Click here and scroll down to the relevant entry.
