Today starts my two-week vacation from work. I am doing nothing, going nowhere. It is my chance to try to recover from 2001 and prepare for 2002.

I started my day by setting my alarm for 8:30, getting up at that time, and going over to Mom's to figure out how she messed up her VCR. Figured it out, fixed it, had my coffee and bagel which I'd brought, and set up the printer Melanie and Peter gave her as hers broke.

Got home from that around 11 and have proceeded to doze and watch television. It's been very good.

Tomorrow I have to go to brunch in Northampton to wish my former boss a fond farewell.

This does not bode well for my division at work. They shouldn't have let KR go.

I hope his replacements (yes, two of them) can handle the job and grow into it.
