Grampa died last night at 3:30.

The nurses called me at 12:30 saying they didn't think he'd make it through the night.

The ringer on my bedroom phone was off.

I never heard any of the 17 calls I got - one from the nurses, 15 from Dad during the course of the night and up to 7:40, and one from Mom around 6:30. How I wish that ringer had been on - I would have gone to Reeds Landing to be with him.

I went to work today. Broke down once, had a half breakdown too, but for the most part was functional in a limited way. Read email, Microsoft beta news, watched some Sailor Moon.

Left at 4.

Went to Media Play to get some Mozart for Jen that she asked me to tape - the Piano Sonata in D. Apparently it has been shown to sooth epileptics, and she wants to try playing it for Bethany. I'm making a tape of it now.

Had dinner with Mom and Karen who arrived from California around 5. She'd been planning to come for a last visit.

Taking tomorrow off, and whatever else time I need.
