2003-12-08 - 8:55 p.m. I just got off the phone with Mom...Granny died tonight. The nursing home gave her some morphine to ease her discomfort, and then Mom and the chaplain sang Silent Night...and Granny "let go" and slipped away. I'm glad it was painless and peaceful. I'm so upset for my sister Karen, who right now is on a plane from Santa Barbara to here to see Granny...she missed Grampa by a day, too, and was determined to not let it happen again.
